The prices listed are for the entire duration of the class (7 weeks total for most classes).

Kindergarten Puppy Training (KPT)

For puppies 7 weeks to 4 months of age.  Household manners are emphasized.  Socialization and fun activities are also included.  Sit, down, stay, come, walking on a loose lead, and leave it are some of the exercises.  Families are encouraged to attend with their dogs.

Primary

For puppies 5 months to 1 year of age.  Older dogs are admitted on approval by the instructor.  Household exercises are taught.  Sit, stay, down, come, walking on a loose lead, and control exercises are also included.

Novice/CGC

For dogs who have completed a beginning course.  A continuation of previous class exercises encourages more precise performances.  A Canine Good Citizenship Test will be offered in week 7 of the class.

Prerequisites:  Completion of a puppy class.

Novice

For dogs who have completed a beginning course.  A continuation of previous class exercises encourages more precise performances.

Prerequisites:  Completion of a puppy class.

Skills

Build upon the skills learned in the Novice/CGC class with the goal of joining a Rally or Prep & Practice class.

Prerequisites:  Completion of a puppy class plus a CGC title.

Special Novice

An 8-week class for dogs who have completed a beginning course.  It will build on skills from obedience exercises and Novice Tricks.  In week 7, a CGC test will be offered; and in week 8, a Novice Tricks title test will be offered.  Information on both of there titles can be found at www.akc.org.

Prerequisites:  Completion of a puppy class.

Teaching exercises that are required for the AKC Canine Good Citizen title.

Requirements:  Dogs need to be comfortable being created while another dog is working.

Foundations

This class will introduce your dog to agility.  It will develop basic skills including attention, shaping behaviors vs luring behaviors, sends to obstacles and cueing, turns on the flat and side work, body awareness, handling skills, contact skills, behavior shaping on low and starter equipment, and sequencing.

Prerequisites:  2 Basic Courses (A puppy class and Novice)

Beginning

This class will build on the foundation class with progression towards more obstacle skills, jumping skills, sequencing, and handling skills.  Introduction to weave poles and teeter.

Prerequisites:  Foundations

Intermediate

This class will focus on handling techniques, course strategy, and more challenging sequencing.

Prerequisites:  Beginning

Advanced

This class builds on the previous classes.

Prerequisites:  Intermediate and dogs must be doing full height teeter and 6 weave poles

Preparation for showing in AKC Novice, Open, and Utility classes.

Rally

Covers concepts for AKC Rally Obedience.

Prep & Practice

This class is for dogs that have at least completed the Novice/CGC class or have those skills.  It will focus on advanced heeling and recall exercises, basic Rally Obedience exercises, off leash stays with distractions, controlled dog to dog interactions, improving the response time to commands, and improving your trust in and relationship with your dog.  This is a great class to prepare a dog for competition work for obedience or Rally, a preparatory class for agility, or to reinforce the skills you have been working on in prior classes.  It is for all dogs, and their owners, who want and need the next challenging step.

Prerequisites:  Novice/CGC or related skills

Requirements:  Dogs from time to time will be crated.

Novice

The goal of this class is for the student and their dog to achieve the Novice Trick Dog title.  The syllabus will follow a set format of new training concepts and related new tricks, review of old tricks, and review of new tricks.  Homework will be given.

Prerequisites:  2 Basic Courses (A puppy class and Novice)

Intermediate

The goal of this class is for the student and their dog to achieve the Intermediate Trick Dog title.  The syllabus will follow a set format of new training concepts and related new tricks, review of old tricks, and review of new tricks.  Homework will be given.

Prerequisites:  May have achieved Novice Trick Dog title or be ready to test for the Novice Trick Dog title.  Must have had Novice Trick Class or CGC title.

Requirements:  Dogs will be crated between searches (no exceptions).

Novice

This class will introduce the sport of scent work.  This class will begin to develop the dog's desire to hunt and search while building confidence in the dog.  It is designed for dogs that are brand new to scent work, or have just started scent work, but are not yet on odor.

Prerequisites:  2 Basic Courses (A puppy class and Novice)

Intermediate

This class is for dogs who have already been introduced to odor.  Dogs will continue to learn odor importance, continue building confidence, and begin working on skills for more difficult searches.

Prerequisites:  2 Basic Courses (A puppy class and Novice);  Dogs of all levels are welcome, but dogs must be on at least birch.

Skills

This class is for dogs who have already been introduced to birch, anise, and clove and who have completed an intermediate level course.  Dogs will continue with intermediate level skills with the goal of competing.

Prerequisites:  2 Complete at least 2 Scent Work Courses and introduced to 3 odors.
